Love that Gosalyn!

If you haven't figured it out yet, I've found a new favorite character to draw. I'm having a lot of fun with drawing Gosalyn from Darkwing Duck, especially when it comes to coming up with different poses for her. The first one (in red pencil) was done Friday night, and the others (in blue) were done today in class, where we were working on putting a character into our own poses.

And for a little variety, here's a post-it done quickly on Friday at work...

Let me know what you think!

Crazy to think that I'm closing in on post #100.  Hope to have something cool done for that post, but no promises.

In the meantime, here's a post-it I doodled at work yesterday (and then colored at home last night).  I've been playing around with brush pens more lately and am starting to enjoy using them.  Feeling a little less tentative and almost like I have some degree of control over what it is doing.

And here are a couple more Darkwing Duck drawings, one of Launchpad and the other another Gosalyn.  Did both of these last night.  Darkwing Duck characters are so much fun to draw!

Gosalyn

Here's another Darkwing Duck drawing, this time of Gosalyn Waddlemeyer. Did this last night while watching an episode. I really had forgotten just how funny that show could be at times.

Some post-its and DW!

Couple quick drawings to post this morning...  First up, here are a couple drawings on post-its I've done the past few days at work.  Just random heads that I've doodled while waiting for either renders or exports to finish.

Darkwing Duck came up in conversation with someone recently (can't really remember why), but I decided to rewatch a couple episodes, considering I hadn't seen the show since I was a kid. While watching, I decided to pause the episode and try to draw DW...

More hands and Bugs

First up are more hands that I drew last night from the huge packet of hands we were given in class this week...  I'm finding hands to be a little challenging, but I think I'm making progress.  Going to keep drawing them until I get them figured out.

Next up, a good friend of mine asked me last week if I would draw a couple Looney Tunes characters for him...  Finally had a chance to sit down and give it a shot last night (though I only had time for one), so below is my first attempt at drawing Bugs Bunny.  I was fairly happy with how the body turned out but the head could definitely use some work...

Hands

Today's class was focused on hands. We got a huge handout full of hands, so I'll be spending the next week or two of my life doing lots of copying of hands in various positions and poses. After drawing a bunch of hands today, I can say they are very frustrating. Hopefully by drawing a bunch of them this week I'll get more comfortable with them. Below are a bunch of various hands I drew today, both during class and after I got home.

Harley and a Post-It

Couple drawings to share today... First up is another Bruce Timm-style drawing of Harley I did to get in some more practice for class.

Next up is a quick post-it sketch I did while at work yesterday... Drawing so much Bruce Timm-style stuff this week has definitely been rubbing off, as you can see in this sketch.

More practice with Timm

As you can see, I've been on a Bruce Timm kick lately. I figure if I'm going to draw to practice what I've learned in the class I'm taking, what better way than by doing so in a style that I absolutely love? It also doesn't hurt that I recently got a copy of the fantastic book "Batman Animated" that features tons and tons of art from the Timm-helmed series. So here are a couple drawings from last night.

Drawings from class

This week's class brought legs into the fold. Here are a couple drawings I did in class to work on legs (and also continue practicing the rest of the body).

Working on women

Here are a couple new original sketches of women, one done at
home and another done on a post-it at work. Definitely feel like I'm
beginning to make at least a little progress on drawing females. Let
me know what you think!

Wonder Woman!

Here are a couple more drawings I did as an exercise for the class I'm taking, again using preexisting art to break down the construction of the character in order to be able to draw them.
